    •        In the 1885 Iowa State Census, Peter House is an eight year old, white, single male. He was born in Hamilton County, Iowa. His parents were foreign born. He lives in ward one, Webster City, Boone Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. [PH 01.]
             In the 1900 U. S. Federal Census, Peter House is a 24 year old, single, white male. He was born in Iowa of parents who were born in Canada (father) and Ireland (mother). He is a day laborer and has been unemployed for six months. He reads, writes, and speaks English. He lives with his mother, Julia, and a sister, Tressa, in Ward 1, Webster City, Boone Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. [JO 03.]
             In the 1910 U. S. Federal Census, Peter House is a 33 year old, white, single male. He was born in Iowa of parents from Germany (father - actually Canada) and Ireland (mother). He speaks, reads, and writes English. He is a clerk in a dry goods store; he is working, but has been out of work for a couple of weeks during 1909. He lives with a Montagne family in precinct 2, ward 6, Denver, Denver County, Colorado. [PH 02.]
             In the 1930 U. S. Federal Census, Peter House is a 58 year old, white, single male. He was born in Iowa of parents who were born in Canada (father) and Ireland (mother). He speaks, reads, and writes English. He is a farmer who does general farming. He is not a veteran of any military force in any war. He lives in Morgan Township, Jones County, South Dakota. [PH 03.]
             An obituary was published in the [Daily Freeman Journal], October 19, 1941. It reads:
             SERVICE SET FOR SATURDAY
             Death Takes Peter House, Former Webster City Resident
             Peter house, 65, former Webster City resident, died Thursday at the Veterans' hospital in Hot Springs, S. D. Death was caused by paralysis.
             Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church here with Father F. J. Frein officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery with Foster in charge.
             He was born here Oct. 3, 1876, the son of Michael and Julia House. He attended the Webster City schools and grew to manhood here. He enlisted in the 52nd Iowa Infantry during the Spanish American war and following his discharge was a structural iron worker out of this city.
      Mr. House went to Milwaukee 30 years ago where he engaged in the same kind of work and retired 18 years later, moving to Midland, S. D. to make his home. He entered the veteran's hospital Aug. 9.
      He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He leaves the following brothers and sisters: Dennis, Texas; Matt, Fort Dodge, Frank, Lyman, Col.; Mrs. E. J. Radlein, St. Paul, and Mrs. H. J. Compa, New Jersey.
             Rosary will be said at 7 O'clock Friday night at the Foster funeral home. [PH 04.]
