Emil lives with his parents, Mathilde and Theodore, and eight siblings: Albert, Ida, Manda, William, Bertha, Tilda, Robert, and Arthur Neumann. The family lives in Cleveland Township, Jackson County, Wisconsin. [NT 01.]

In is not clear how it happens that Emil G. Neumann appears in two 1905 Wisconsin State Censuses somewhat far apart and with two different families, but that is what must be reported here. In the second case, Emil is a 27 year old, white married male in the city of Merrill in Lincoln County, Wisconsin. He was born in Germany of parents who were also both born in Germany. The occupation has been written over and is thus not readable, but he has been in this employ for 11 months. He owns the home in which he lives free of any mortgage. Emil lives with his wife, Emma Johanne Frank Neumann and two daughters: Laura E. and Viola H. Neumann. The family lives in the city of Merrill, Lincoln County, Wisconsin. [NEG 01.]
In the 1910 U. S. Federal Census, Emil G. Neumann is a 32 year old, white, widowed male. He was born in Germany of parents who were both born in Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1882 and is a naturalized citizen. He reads, writes, and speaks English, although his native language is German. His employ is that of laborer on the railroad. He is classified as a worker, working on his own account. He has not been unemployed. Emil is living with his parents, Theodore and Mathilde (Bramer), five siblings: Bertha, Tilda, Robert, Arthur, and Ella, as well as his three daughters: Laura, Viola, and Minnie - all with the surname of Neumann. Emil is a farmer in the field of general farming; he owns his own home and farm. He is an employer. And is not a veteran of any U. S. military conflicts. During the week of March 24-30, 1940 he worked 70 hours. Emil is a farmer in general farming. In 1939, he worked during 52 weeks of the year. He has income other than from the Farm. Emil lives with his wife, Hulda and their daughter, Goldene D. Neumann. The family lives in Otter Creek, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. [NEG 05.]
OBITUARY
EMIL NEUMANN, 71 DIES IN AUGUSTA
AUGUSTA -- Emil Neumann, 71 dies at his home here Thursday.
He had been a resident of Augusta or the surrounding vicinity for most of his life.
Survivors are his widow, four daughters, Mrs. Goldine Ida, Augusta; Mrs. Flora Heideman, Eau Claire; Mrs. Viola Gueldner, Spring Valley; and Mrs. Minnie Farrell, St. Paul; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mabel Arndt, Augusta; a step-son, Art Piehl, Sturgis, S. Dak.: Three sisters, Mar. Bertha Bidmark and Miss Tilly Neumann, both of Eau Claire; and Mrs. Edna Thur, Fairchild; and two brothers, Arthur of Chippewa Falls, and Albert of Fairchild.
Funeral services will be held here Monday. Friends may call at the Stipe-Anderson funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening and until time of services Monday.
