Notes |
- In the 1940 U. S. Census, Annette M. Pierce is a one year old, white, single female. She was born in Minnesota. She lives with her parents, Ralph and Alice, and two siblings: Dorothy and Frank. The family lives in Connelly Township, Wilkin County, Minnesota. [RRP 09.]
From Annette M. Pierce (Formo):
" One of my favorite pastimes has been painting. Rosemaling was the first type of painting I took up. Next, I started oil painting on canvas. Most of the Rosemaling has been given as gifts and some I sold, however, the oil paintings are hanging on our walls.
I also enjoy the outdoors and traveling. On our way to Alaska in 1989, we stopped in Dawson Creek, British Columbia and looked up a first cousin, once removed, from my mother's side. One son helped build the Alcan Highway. She and her younger son had visited Czechoslovakia and located a castle and village Welharticky. Welharticky is the Americanization of the name.
In our travels, we've both met people from our Minnesota home towns and from Waukesha as well. Met a man from Fargo, North Dakota, who remembered my father's truck line. It really is a small world." [AMP 01.]
