    •        In the 1880 U. S. Federal Census, Elza or Mary is a seven year old, white, single female. She is at school and has attended school during the census year. She was born in Iowa of parents who were born in Canada (father) and Ireland (mother). Mary lives with her parents, Mike and Julia, and four brothers (Dennis, Mattie, Theodore, and James) in Webster City, Boone Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. [DH 02.]
             In the 1885 Iowa State Census, Mary House is a 12 year old, white, single female. She was born in Hamilton County, Iowa. Her parents are foreign born. [MHo 01.]
             In 1940, the following obituary was printed for Mary House, Mrs. Robert Scott, in The Daily Freeman Journal (Tuesday, 12 March 1940):
             SERVICES FOR MRS. SCOTT, 66
             Former Webster City Woman Dies at Home in St. Paul
      Mrs. Robert Scott 66, died at her home in St. Paul yesterday morning. The body will be brought to Webster City tomorrow afternoon and funeral services will held Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church with the Rev. Father F. J. Frein officiating. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery with Foster's in charge.
             Mrs. Scott was the former Mary House, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael House, former Webster City residents. [MHo 02.]
