She has completed the 4th grade and spent nine months in school. She reads and writes English. Gwendolyn lives with her mother, Elva C. Brewer Barton, her grandmother, Estella H. Brewer, a nephew of her mother, Lee W. Breeden, and two siblings, Lyle H. and Charles E. Barton. The family lives in Webster City, Hamilton County, Iowa. [EB 09.]

LaVonne "Bonnie" Barr, as she was known, died December 27, 2007 in Spirit Lake, Dickinson County, Iowa. Her obituary reads as follows:
LaVonne "Bonnie" Barr, 93, Spirit Lake
Lavonne"Bonnie" Barr, 93 of Spirit Lake, a former Webster City area farmer, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, at the Lake Regional Hospital at Spirit Lake. Funeral services will be held at 11: a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Chapel [Webster City], with Rev. David Doerr officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery [Webster City]. Visitation will be one hour before service time on Wednesday. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
LaVonne Gwendolyn Barr, daughter of Elva and Charles Barton, was born March 9, 1914 at Webster City. She received her education in Webster City schools. On April 10, 1932, she married to Rober Mason Barr at Webster City. The couple operated the family farms located south of Highview. They farmed until the early 1960s; then they began wintering at Tucson, Arizona. They retired in 1976. Mr. Barr died December 8, 1990. In 2005, she moved to Hilltop Care Center at Spirit Lake.
Mrs. Barr is survived by a half-sister, Pat Yeager of Rockville, MD; several nieces and nephews, including Joyce Maxwell of Iowa City and Jack Barr of Spirit Lake.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles and Lyle Barton.
