[AGu 04.]        In the 1920 U. S. Federal Census, Sabina Arndt is an 11 year old, white, single female. She was born in Wisconsin of parents who were born in Germany (father) and Wisconsin (mother). Sabina is in school; she reads, writes, and speaks English. She has no employ outside the home. Sabina lives with her widowed mother, Emelie, and eight siblings: Alvin, Edwin, Irene, Regine, Erwin, Lavina, Sevetta, and Viletta Arndt. The family lives in Bridge Creek Township, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. [HEA 03.]        In the 1930 U. S. Federal Census, Sabina Arndt is a 21 year old, white, single female. The Census record indicates that her parents were both born in Wisconsin. That is true for her mother. Her father was born in Germany. We do not know the reason for withholding the information on her father. Was it because of changes in Germany or was it simply forgetfulness? We simply do not know. In any case, Sabina is literate in English for she reads, writes, and speaks it. She is working on her own account as a servant in a private family. Yet, she lives with her widowed mother, Emelia, and her brother, Edwin, who is the head of the family, and three sisters: Alverdias, Violetta, and Lavina Arndt.
